Reversible Folkies Gjel neck warmer made of Prolen® fibre with silver ions. Composition: 50% polypropylene Prolen®Siltex, 50% polypropylene Prolen® This neck warmer is made of Slovak Prolen® (blue fibre) and Prolen®Siltex (white fibre) with silver ions, which we started to produce at Chemosvit Fibrochem in 1999. It is certified according to Standard 100 by Oekotex, Class 1 (suitable for infant clothing). Prolen®Siltex fibre is permanently treated with an antibacterial (biocidal) additive based on silver ions, active ingredient: silver phosphate glass. Prolen® Siltex fibre prevents the growth of bacteria, reduces unpleasant odours and ensures hygienic freshness. Although we have it tested and certified (as most antibacterial hand gels are) for Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli, and we can at least protect ourselves from them and not weaken ourselves in the fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus. However, many studies say that silver ions can do more. We have not had our fibre tested for viruses unfortunately, which we tried in vain before the coronavirus outbreak in Slovakia, but we can at least have faith. Our society and our people also put themselves at risk every day to ensure that we can provide as much of these fibres as possible to make drapes, socks and other materials for all of us. The antibacterial properties of Prolen® Siltex fibre are confirmed by the VÚTCH - CHEMITEX certificate according to AATCC TM 100:2012 (it was tested for Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria), the test protocol from VÚTCH - CHEMITEX according to ASTM E2149-13a (it was tested for Escherichia coli bacteria).
