The Folkies functional thermal shirt is made of polypropylene multifilament fibre, which has been produced in Slovakia since 1974 and exported all over the world. It is used in sportswear of many world brands, as it has excellent properties that predestine it for sports.

Prolen® is directly on the skin and acts as a second layer of skin. It does not absorb moisture (as is the case with cotton, for example), on the contrary, it draws it away from the skin, for example to the next layer (cotton) or to the air. You will stay dry during our activities, whether sporting or everyday.

Prolene® is the lightest fibre compared to all types of fibres in the world. It is 50% lighter than cotton and even floats on water. Clothing made from Prolen® is the lightest it can be, which suits especially athletes who perform in extreme conditions. The weight they carry to the top is considerably less thanks to Prolen®.

Maintaining the ideal temperature in all conditions is the key to comfort. When climbing the Himalayas, sailing the ocean or taking a walk in the park, Prolen clothing has the ability to maintain the ideal temperature when in contact with the skin. Prolen® fibre has the lowest conductivity of all fibres and guarantees thermal comfort in all atmospheric conditions thanks to its insulating ability.

Prolen® fibre is abrasion resistant. Clothing made of Prolen® fibre can be exposed to bad weather, sun, sweat, humidity, but because it is dyed in the mass, the colour stays the same as when you buy the clothes, it does not wash out and does not get into our skin as it does with other types of fibre that are surface dyed.

Our skin is the largest organ of our body. If it absorbs toxic substances (dyes, pesticides /cotton/, formaldehyde) that are used, for example, in the transport of clothes from distant countries, they can enter the lymphatic system and the bloodstream. These toxic substances can cause infertility, respiratory problems, skin irritation and even cancer. Prolen® fiber and Folkies Functional Neckwarmer - Birds is a Slovak product and does not need to be treated with formaldehyde to travel long distances . Unlike other fibers, Prolen® and clothing made from it is a "skin friend" and is suitable for people with the most sensitive skin. Prolen® fibre does not react with chemicals produced by perspiration.

Prolen® fibre was "born" and is produced under the most beautiful Slovak mountains, the High Tatras. We, the Tatra people, have a great relationship with nature and the environment. That is why we behave in such a way and produce our fibre with the utmost respect for nature, in order to preserve it for future generations as we have inherited it. The production of Prolen®  fibre does not pollute the environment (water, air or soil). Since Prolen is dyed in the mass, there is no waste problem during dyeing. Only a tiny amount of water is used to produce Prolen®, unlike, for example, cotton, where up to 11,000 litres of water are used to produce and dye one kilogramme. Not to mention the pesticides and fertilisers used in cotton cultivation and the degraded land that once served as a livelihood for the indigenous people. Lower temperatures are used to produce Prolen® fibre and to care for the products afterwards (just wash at 30-40°C), which means less energy is wasted. Prolen® fibre is 100% recyclable. It is the fibre of the future, a green fibre for our blue planet.

Folkies cap - Birds - Functional Prolen® fibre cap requires minimal care. Clothes made of Prolen® will not shrink, just wash them at 30-40°C with 1/3 of the amount of washing powder usually used. Stains do not settle inside the fibre, only on the surface, so clothes with Prolen® are cleaned faster and easier. Prolen® is not electrostatic. It dries clothes quickly and does not need to be ironed. After washing, it hangs up for a short time and we can continue our activities. Prolen® fibre has excellent thermal insulation properties, is the lightest of all fibres (40% lighter than cotton), the fastest of all fibres to move moisture away from the skin towards the next absorbent layer or the surrounding area (wick effect). Retains permanent colors (it is dyed in the mass, the color does not bleed into your skin), is stain resistant and is 100% recyclable.
