When preparing for a cycling tour, it is important to focus on choosing the right cycling clothing that has the necessary features. Among the essential properties of cycling clothing we must include the wicking of heat and moisture away from the skin. Only a functional material that effectively wicks away sweat while keeping you warm will provide these qualities. Wool and cotton materials are not suitable for cycling. Just as important as the material is the fit of the cycling clothing. It should follow the curves of the body. At the same time, it should take into account the cyclist's elongated body position when riding and not contain significant seams. Karpathia® cycling socks have a compression effect to stimulate your sports performance.

Karpathia® cycling socks

are made of antibacterial polypropylene fibre Prolen®Siltex. This fibre is permanently treated with a silver ion based antibacterial additive. Prolen®Siltex fibre effectively prevents the growth of bacteria, reduces unpleasant odours. Therefore, even during your cycling performances, you can have a feeling of hygienic freshness. The silver-based antibacterial additive with which Prolen® Siltex fibre is treated is not classified as a hazardous substance (in accordance with CLP Regulation).

Fibre Prolen® Siltex

Slovak fibre Prolen® Siltex, treated with an antibacterial additive based on silver ions, has been produced by Chemosvit Fibrochem, s.r.o. since 2004 and is certified according to Standard 100 by Oekotex, class 1 (suitable for the production of infant clothing). The antibacterial properties of Prolen® Siltex fibre are confirmed by the VÚTCH - CHEMITEX certificate according to the AATCC 100:2019 standard (it has been tested for Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria), the test protocol from VÚTCH - CHEMITEX according to the ASTM E2149-13a standard (it has been tested for the Escherichia coli bacteria). Polypropylene fibre Prolen®, which has been produced in Slovakia since 1970 by Chemosvit Fibrochem, s.r.o. In addition, Prolen® fibre has excellent thermal insulation properties, it is also the lightest of all fibres (40% lighter than cotton), the fastest of all fibres to move moisture away from the skin towards the next absorbent layer or the surrounding area (wick effect). Retains permanent colors (it is dyed in the mass, the color does not bleed into your skin), is stain resistant and is 100% recyclable. Composition: 93% polypropylene Prolen®Siltex, 7% elastane
