Karpathia®IXO Socks - Stripes are made from the unique Prolen® polypropylene fibre, which is characterised by its excellent thermal insulation properties. Prolen® fibre wicks moisture away the fastest of all fibres, to the next absorbent layer or surrounding area. At the same time, Prolen® fibre is the lightest of all fibres (up to 40% lighter than cotton fibre). Because Prolen® fiber is dyed in the mass, it retains its color fastness and does not release color into your skin. This protects your health while extending the colour life of the product. Prolen® fibre products can resist stains. With its 100% recyclability, by purchasing Prolen® fiber products, you are being environmentally responsible and helping to protect the environment for generations to come. Polypropylene fibre Prolen® has been produced in Slovakia since 1970 by Chemosvit Fibrochem s.r.o. The antibacterial Prolen®Siltex fibre can be used in Karpathia® socks, which is treated with a permanent antibacterial treatment based on silver ions. Prolen® and Prolen®Socks Socks Karpathia®IXO- Stripes is a product that we manufacture directly in Slovakia. Therefore, there is no need to treat it with formaldehyde to cover long distances, as is the case, for example, with deliveries from Asia. Unlike other fibers and clothing made from them, Prolen® and clothing made from it are "skin friendly" and can be worn by people with the most sensitive skin. Prolen® fibre does not react with chemicals produced by perspiration. When silver ions are applied, Prolen®Siltex fibre is produced, which is also used for the production of Prolen®Socks. It counteracts the growth of bacteria, reduces unpleasant odours, maintains the biological balance of the skin and ensures hygienic freshness. The antibacterial effect of silver has been known since the time of ancient Rome. Prolen® fibre has a slightly negative charge which is beneficial for the human body. Negative ions help blood circulation, prevent free radicals, regulate autonomic nerves, activate cells and strengthen the immune system. Thanks to this, we can perform better. Since Prolen® fibre is cetrified according to Oekotex Standard 100, it meets the strict human-ecological requirements for the production of infant clothing. Classic Karpathia®IXO socks, made from a special Slovak Prolen® IXO fibre, which reduces the retention (dwell time) of the common tick (Ixodes Ricinus L.) on the fabric. Composition: 75% cotton, 10% polypropylene Prolen®, 10% polypropylene Prolen® IXO (treated with repellent, reducing the possibility of infestation by ticks IXODES Ricinus L., based on natural substances), 5% elastane Recently, there has been an increase in the number of ticks in Europe due to warming. Ticks are carriers of encephalitis, Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, babesiosis and other serious diseases that are very difficult to treat. So that you don't have to give up the experience of being outdoors, or if you do outdoor work, we have developed a special Prolen® IXO polypropylene fibre that reduces the possibility of being attacked by the IXODES Ricinus L. - tick, which is most commonly found in Europe. This fibre contains natural substances that are non-irritating to humans, it is made on a natural base without pesticides and synthetic repellents. It was developed in Slovakia by Chemosvit FIbrochem, s.r.o. in cooperation with the Institute of Parasitology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice and the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the P.J. Šafárik University in Košice. Prolen®IXO fibre has a repellent effectis treated with a repellent based on natural substances, active ingredient: decanoic acid (decanoic acid, n-decanoic acid, capric acid). This substance reduces the retention (dwell time) of the common tick (Ixodes Ricinus L.) on the fabric and has been registered by the European Chemicals Agency for use as an active substance in repellents (product category 19) and pest control (product category 18) since 1.11.2015. Certificates and test reports The repellency test protocol 1/2019-FibroTick from the Centre of Applied Research of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice determined a reduction in the dwell time of adult female Ixodes ricinus ticks on the fabric compared to an equivalent fabric made of fibre without repellent substance.
