Folkies - Čičmany cap made of 100% Prolen® fibre with antimicrobial effect and a pattern inspired by folk motifs that can be found in the Slovak village of Čičmany. These patterns have not only made this village famous, but through athletes and fashion have reached the whole world. Folkies® - Čičmany caps are made from a unique Prolen® polypropylene fibre, which is characterised by its excellent thermal insulation properties. Prolen®  fiber wicks moisture away the fastest of all fibers, to the next absorbent layer, or surroundings. At the same time, Prolen® fibre is the lightest of all fibres (up to 40% lighter than cotton fibre). Because Prolen® fiber is dyed in the mass, it retains its color fastness and does not release color into your skin. This protects your health while extending the colour life of the product. The Prolen® fibre does not react with chemicals produced by perspiration. When silver ions are applied, Prolen®Siltex is produced, which is also used to make Folkies® socks. It counteracts the growth of bacteria, reduces unpleasant odours, maintains the biological balance of the skin and ensures hygienic freshness. The antibacterial effect of silver has been known since the time of ancient Rome. Prolen® fibre has a slightly negative charge which is beneficial for the human body. Negative ions help blood circulation, prevent free radicals, regulate autonomic nerves, activate cells and strengthen the immune system. Thanks to this, we can perform better.

Prolen® fibre

Since Prolen®  fibre is certified according to Oekotex Standard 100, it meets the strict human-ecological requirements for the production of infant clothing. When you wear Prolen®, you know what you're wearing.  Silver ions actively prevent the growth of bacteria, reducing unpleasant odours and maintaining the biological balance of the skin, ensuring a feeling of hygienic freshness. These Folkies® caps use the Slovak Prolen®Siltex fibre with silver ions, which has been produced by Chemosvit Fibrochem since 1999. It is certified according to Standard 100 by Oekotex, class 1 (suitable for infant clothing).  Prolen®Siltex fibre is permanently treated with an antibacterial (biocidal) additive based on silver ions, active ingredient: silver phosphate glass.   Prolen® Siltex fibre prevents bacterial growth, reduces unpleasant odours and ensures hygienic freshness. The antibacterial properties of Prolen® Siltex  in Folkies®  caps are confirmed by the VÚTCH - CHEMITEX certificate according to AATCC 100:2019 (tested for Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria), the test protocol from VÚTCH - CHEMITEX according to ASTM E2149-13a (tested for Escherichia coli).
